Edward is the Founder and Principal of Applied Alchemy, a venture studio and strategic consulting agency. Applied Alchemy helps companies, foundations and family offices design, build, and launch high-impact regenerative initiatives.He does strategy, network design, as well as builds and funds companies to help address the most significant and pressing challenges that we face, with a portfolio of work spanning from renewable energy, to regenerative agriculture, to vehicle electrification, to curriculum design and cultural preservation.At Earthbanc, he helps to bring to market the most effective nature-based carbon removal strategies with the potential to help solve the climate and biodiversity crisis.He is the CoFounder of The BioFi Project, a collective supporting bioregions to design, build, and implement Bioregional Financing Facilities (BFFs) that connect financial resources with regenerators. He served as an Adventure Partner at Salmon Nation trust, and the co-creator of The Edge Prize, a new decentralized accelerator and fund to support bioregional regenerative projects and companies.He is the Co-Founder of Hylo, a new kind of social network that helps members of communities-of-purpose to connect, collaborate, share resources, and build things together. He is also Co-Founder of Impact Hub Oakland, a co-working and community space in Oakland for impact entrepreneurs. He is a Director at Children of the Rainforest, where he is supporting the work of the Yawanawa to revive their culture and language through the creation of a school called Isku Vakehuhu. He is a Director at Treasury, the premier spatial asset hub for metaverse creators and builders.In 2006, he co-founded Mission Motors, manufacturer of high performance electric motorcycles and advanced electric vehicle components. The Mission One set the Bonneville Speed Record for a street-legal electric motorcycle, and the Mission R holds the electric motorcycle lap record at Laguna Seca. Mission Motors created powertrain solutions for companies as diverse as Honda, Caterpillar, Mugen, and Harley Davidson. Harley Davidson's electric motorcycle, the "LiveWire" emerged as a collaboration between Harley Davidson and Mission Motors.He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University, and an MBA from Presidio Graduate School and has taught at entrepreneurship at the Presidio Graduate School and California College of the Art's MBA in Design Strategy.
