For the last 19 years was the test engineer for several digital and serial ATE test products. Designed test-ability into new products. Designed PCB test fixtures and programmed associated FPGA's.Wrote test software using C and C#.Duties included working with product designers to build testability into the new products. Define tests and test requirements. Design necessary test boards if necessary and program any FPGAs on test fixtures. Assemble equipment necessary for product testing and writing test software. When JTAG was desired I defined and executed JTAG test design. Evaluated data and set test limits. Defined product / test flow and wrote test procedures. Once product was finished I maintained them and oversaw or handled costumer repairs. For much of this time I also handled product testing. PCB design software: Orcad and Altium. FPGA design software: Lattice. JTAG / Boundary scan software: OnTAP and Corelis. Test software and execitives: CVI, Teststand and ActivATE. Product lines: BE64, SR19, SR192A, MA1801, 2108, T964 and T940.

The test engineer for the digital ATE test system product lines. Bought by EADS North America Test and Services.I was the principle software designer when Talon Instruments re-hosted Test Program Sets(TPS)under contract from NASA White Sands to test 12 boards used for Space Shuttle ground to orbit communications. These tests were originally developed on the Talon TS6000 which is a stand alone Digital Automated Test System. The TS6000 used a proprietary operating system and programming language to control over 380 Digital test lines and Microprocessor emulation pods. The replacement system used two Talon SR192A units and one Talon BE64 unit. While I participated in the replacement hardware selection my main responsibility was the software design of the system used for the re-hosting the Tests. Development entailed using NI LabWindows /CVI and NI TestStand. I wrote code to emulate each TS6000 command using the same syntax. The test station originally consisted of a TS6000 and more than a full rack of other bench test equipment. I added diagnostic / troubleshooting software tools to the system and developed self tests. After completion of development and integration I trained engineers at NASA White Sands on the system. A few years further on I also trained a second set of engineers at the same location at a later date. NASA was very pleased with the results and even asked us to do a follow on legacy replacement for them. We declined because it was primarily Analog instrumentation however and our area of expertise was primarily digital systems.
