Practice solely focused on immigration matters before EOIR, USCIS, ICE and federal courts. Specialization in family immigration, citizenship, removal defense, detained/bond docket, consular processing, waivers of inadmissibility, writs of mandamus and appeals.

Adjunct instructor in the Bachelor and Master of Social Work programs. I teach the following courses: Social Welfare Policy and Social Work (Macro and Micro) Methods.

Adjunct Instructor in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department. I teach the following courses: Introduction to Social Welfare, Social Problems, Introduction to Sociology, Community Organization, and College and Career Success.

Associate Attorney in the Education Law Department. I represented Boards of Education in education issues and student matters including: special education, student discipline, discrimination, harassment, Section 504, ADA, Title IX, restraint and seclusion, student data privacy and general education matters.

I served as the inaugural Director of the Immigrant Children's Justice Project at the Center for Children's Advocacy, a private non-profit legal organization affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Law. My practice focused on the very specific Federal law and Connecticut procedures for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), which helps abused, neglected or abandoned immigrant children, regularize their immigration status. I assisted in drafting legislation codifying the SIJS language into Connecticut law, provided substantive legal training and technical assistance to Connecticut attorneys including appeals, and facilitated training and round-table discussions on the educational needs of English Language Learners and students with limited and interrupted formal education to boards of education, parents and community organizations. I also directed a School Based Legal Clinic at a high school for seven years where I worked with young children and teen clients to resolve legal issues that prevented them from succeeding in school. In that capacity, I served as co-counsel on two systemic complaints related to child find violations and the provision of a free and appropriate public education to students with disabilities in a major school district.
