Responsibility for the set-up and daily management of marine, gate, rail, reefer and yard operations and organization. Expertise in rationalization of operations processes, operations organizations, and in-depth understanding of terminal operating systems possibilities and limitations. Within this role responsible for Daily Terminal Operations with main responsibility areas: Marine operations; Gate/Rail operations; Yard/Reefer operations; Direct reports: 32 white collar / (120 blue collars) and with the focus areas of terminal management (all operations); Change management (terminal start-up) and Organisation & Planning (rostering/labour).Managed the operations department of APMT Zeebrugge for an interim period, where following items were included – budget, long term operations strategies and turnaround management of (happening) doubling the container volume in a very short period.Graduated as Best Magnet (internal APMT management training) of the year (2006 batch)

As from April 2005 assisted the project management and headed the Gate & TOS implementation and was part of the execution of building a 2 million TEU Straddle Carrier terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium. The terminal is designed after state of the art principles with advanced operations philosophies ensuring a cost efficient operation. As the project right from start-up was time critical, wherefore the assignment as assistant project manager has been to direct and coordinate the terminal operator’s internal as well as the external resources in project office set-up, terminal design, operations, terminal access control and customs relations towards finalizing the project in 9 months. The total investments are in excess of EUR 80 million.

Project management of Marine and Ferry Projects like Transformation Freight-Passenger terminal; Optimisation Ferry Schedules and several business cases like Speed fer-ries, Ferry Agency, Extension Dover-Dunkerque, move from Scheveningen Terminal to Vlaardingen Terminal, implemented in 2005. Responsible for the modification from Dunkirk Ro-Ro Terminal to Passenger Ro-Ro Terminal; development of Ro-Ro Dunkirk – Spain including Marketing, Business Development, Customer Visits and Negotiations with the Port Authorities.
