Executive Officer, Platoon Commander, 3rd Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) Bn, Bravo Btry. Camp Pendleton, CA, Jan 2001 to Sep 2005● Led and managed between 50 to 200 Marines at a time in various positions to include Assistant Battalion Operations Officer, Platoon Commander and Battery Executive Officer. ● Led Marines in combat as a Platoon Commander during the initial invasion of Iraq in OIF I. Protected convoys, expeditionary airfields and bases from enemy attack as forces moved from Kuwait through most of Iraq, past Bagdhad and into Tikrit. ● Led Marines in combat as a Weapons Platoon Commander as part of a Provisional Security Battalion that was formed to protect Al Asad Airbase in the Al Anbar province of Iraq during OIF II. Oversaw the two Entry Control points of the Air Base and the Quick Reaction Force tasked with reinforcing the patrols being conducted in defense of the base. Simultaneously served as the Battery Executive Officer. ● Developed, prepared and coordinated monthly training schedules for the battery in accordance with the Training and Readiness Manual and battalion annual training plan.● Supervised all logistical issues for battery operations and exercises.● Responsible for direction, supervision and leadership of all staff personnel and staff functions of battery.● Established and maintained administrative flow of information and correspondence within the battery as it pertained to the battalion and external agencies.● Performed duties of the Battery Commander in his absence.Low Altitude Air Defense Gunner, Various Locations, April 1992 to July 1997 ● Served in various positions from Assistant Gunner to Section Leader and from Private First Class to Staff Sergeant. ● Served as Team Leader as part of the 26th MEU in 1994 and participated in numerous exercises/operations to include Operation Provide Promise/Deny Flight off the coast of Bosnia and Restore Hope in Somalia.

● During the last several months of my tour at MARCORSYSCOM, I Served as the Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Team Lead managing over 8 SATCOM Programs and 4 Urgent Universal Needs Statements (U-UNS) while serving as the Project Officer for the Support Wide Area Network (SWAN) family of systems, Wireless Point-to-Point Link (WPPL), Deployable Ku-band Earth Terminal (DKET) and Commercial Bandwidth Programs.● Coordinated with Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) Combat Development and Integration and HQMC C4 to translate operational requirements into system performance specifications and allow the Marine Corps to procure the best material solutions to meet the needs of the warfighter. ● Directly managed a budget of over $400 Million dollars for the projects I directly oversaw. ● Spoke on behalf of the Marine Corps at various industry and technology conferences hosted by AFCEA, SIA, SPAWAR, AUSA, and LANDWARNET, to name a few. ● Coordinated resources (personnel, facilities and equipment) to manage the cost, schedule and performance of all program objectives.● Developed, tested and fielded critical U-UNS based systems in support of Marine Central Command (MARCENT), all three Marine Expeditionary Forces, Marine Expeditionary Brigade Alpha and all seven Marine Expeditionary Units as they conducted Overseas Contingency Operations such as OIF/OEF ● Planned, coordinated, and contracted worldwide Ku-band satellite coverage for all Marine Corps programs using the Ku-band frequency range.● Leveraged existing US Army Satellite Programs to save the Marine Corps funds by taking advantage of economies of scale and equipment reuse between the two services.● Prepared, briefed and defended Program Objective Memorandum initiatives/budgetary matters to Senate Armed Services Committee representatives.
