Project: Canungra WWTP Plant Upgrade - Client: Aquatec-Maxcon, Scenic Rim RC • Design and Implementation of all Device and Process Automation PLC Code (Siemens S7) for plant upgrade. Plant incorporated dual Membrane Bio-reactor Units with associated de-watering and chemical facilities, which involved 12 Danfoss VSD’s and 20 DOL’s. Plant delivers a throughput of 300kL’s per day.• Factory, Site Acceptance Testing & commissioning of Integrated PLC / SCADA Control System, including I/O Testing, instrument set-up, Device equipment checks and Automation Sequences.Project: Oxley WWTP Plant - Client: Queensland Urban Utilities • Re-commissioning and upgrade of Thermal Hydrolysis (Cambi) system control code with John Holland Group, documentation and remedial work.• Control systems maintenance, trouble shooting, instrument maintenance, Work Order tracking and close-out approval. Development of Work order processing procedures and instrument calibration procedures.Project: Northern & Crystal Creek Water Upgrade Project – Client WIG, Townsville CC • Implementation of Control code for Flow pace dosing systems.• Site Commissioning: Including I/O testing of all PLC inputs and Outputs, execution of SAT Tests (Equipment checks and Automated sequences) and remedial work.Head Office - Engineering:• Preparation of relevant project documentation, including Control System Functional Specification, Engineering manuals and new format SAT documents. Essentially uses FDS as test guide-lines. Method was used for Canungra WWTP and incorporated into Quality Management System.• Generated Tender documentation and associated costs for Various Projects, including Sewerage Plants, Water Treatment, for Aquatec-Maxcon and various other Clients.• Reviewed / Updated existing QA “Procedures and Forms” to reflect current practices and incorporating departments not already in Quality Structure.

• Within scope of Commercialisation Adds Project for Factory 1, Implementation/Unit Test/Remedial of complete suite of software for new filter drier and associated process equipment (Vac pump and Tank). Factory 3, Automation design (DURS and DDS) for New Seed Tank, namely Safety Interlocks, Jacket control SW and updating of existing phases.• Member of Mod-Squad team, Prioritised resolution of issues noted in DCS Action Log by Manufacturing Engineers/Supervisor’s to ensure continuation of Critical Path Equipment.• Implemented/Validated automation change requests (CRF’s) required by manufacturing for the optimal running of Plant via Batch Software.

• Performed root cause failure analysis (FA) on customer returns, for all desktop (IDE) and enterprise (SCSI) products. Used diagnostic software and test equipment to identify electrical failure mechanisms. Analysed mechanical failures using a range of equipment such as microscopes and laser interferometers. Analysis performed was key in driving corrective actions at the Factory.• Assumed primary responsibility for FA of returns from Global OEM’s such as Xyratex and EMC. Ensured a 1-day turn around time when these customers exceeded their goal of 1000dppm.• Specialised in software diagnostic tool modification/creation for IDE products, including specific projects such as drive read scan (duration - 2weeks) and Win2K software changeover (duration - 2 months).• Trained team of 6 field engineers (FE’s) on a 1 to 1 basis in FA techniques, which improved the assessment of drives at customer sites and resulted in a 20% reduction of returns. • Worked in Maxtor Colorado design centre during new product introduction and acted as lead for the analysis of those products in the European lab. Communicated via conference calls, email and technical database details of new and emerging failure modes to Maxtor Engineering community. • Detailed technical support to remote FE’s in European region (Czech Republic, Hungary etc) and similar FA groups in Singapore and Japan. • Performed FA at European customer site on a critical issue, which allowed US design engineers to identify failure mechanism and permitted a quick removal of stop ship order.

Site: Pharmacia & Upjohn, Little Island, Co Cork. • Member of commissioning team (incl. supervisors and operators) involved in commissioning, design changes / validation automation software for new (PNU) plant/equipment. • Worked closely with reverse osmosis unit vendor engineer and process engineer, which resulted in modification to existing control software to eliminate equipment functional/ synchronisation issues. Permitted quick completion of operational qualification (OQ) and scheduled production start-up.• Trained a team of 12 operators in groups of 6 in the operation of 1st Batch 300 Recipe on site, which ultimately controlled the Reverse Osmosis software during production. Site: Merck Sharp & Dohme, Ballydine, Clonmel, Co Tipperary. • Semi automated the cleaning process on MSD’s Launch Platform (new drugs) to reduce turn around times (25%) and insure reproducibility/validation of cleaning.• Modified existing batch software to support the additional vacuum control requirements for newly introduced equipment. • Execution of change requests (CRF’s) required by manufacturing for the optimal running of Plant.
