Currently working on the open-source Library Simplified project. My main tasks involve supporting eBooks and audiobooks obtained through vendors in our main Flask server and API. There are Typescript/React web applications we support that allows admins to configure their library and collections. These applications support the Android and iOS mobile SimplyE apps.

As a Front-End Developer, I worked on the main NYPL.org Drupal site as well as web applications built using AngularJS and React. These applications are used daily by patrons to find information on our 92 branches, like the Locations app, as well as exploring and finding new reading materials, such as New Arrivals and Staff Picks. The biggest project that I led the front-end application for is the Shared Collection Catalog application which is a joint project with Columbia University and Princeton University. I have also helped in the creation of a Design System for use in multiple applications on NYPL.org web properties.

With over 800 members throughout NYC but mostly in Queens, NY, I am leading and organizing group runs and team events in and outside of NYC. As a team leader, I encourage athletes of all types to achieve their goals and also help other runners build leadership skills by organizing their own runs.I help maintain the Queens Distance website by updating important information and handling the e-commerce site.I also write blog and encourage other athletes on the team to write their own stories for the blog site.Queens Distance also hosts multiple races in a calendar year and I have been the volunteer leader. The biggest race we host is the Queens Marathon and for that race I led a team of 60+ volunteers in Flushing Meadow Park.

Using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and the jQuery library, to create a web application for photographers to share, edit, and finalize photography jobs. Minor back-end involvement with the PHP framework CodeIgniter.

Helped research and assist in experiments in an attention laboratory led by Dr. Robert Melara, Department Chair of Psychology at The City College of New York (CUNY). Explored PsychoPy, a psychology software written in Python, to create lab experiments. Learned about the ethics of experimenting on human subjects and how to implement them.

Researched different psychological aspects of language. One main topic included the Whorfian Hypothesis; how one’s language can influence how one thinks. The second main topic was bilingualism; its advantages over being monolingual, how it is acquired, how language processes in the brain work, and how it affects cognition.

Did front-end development in HTML and jQuery as well as incorporate the Youtube Player tools API. Also did minor back-end development using PHP, the Zend framework, and the Youtube Data API.
