• Provide leadership and oversee BP businesses in the region on all occupational medicine, public and environmental health matters• Lead regional businesses’ health and wellbeing strategies, targets, and standards• Expertise to identify significant health risks and mitigation opportunities including the delivery of targeted interventions aligned to the group strategy• Work closely with Head of Countries (HOC), businesses, functions, enablers, and integrators to access expertise as necessary• Part of the Global Health Leadership team, design and keep BP’s health and wellbeing strategies relevant• Steer professional networks to promote cooperation in alignment with BP requirements, programmes, and other common processes• Together with the industrial hygiene team, accountable for industrial hygiene and toxicology• Collection of management information relevant to the business, consistent with the health strategy and part of the implementation of common health backbone systems/processes• Provide technical input into regional emergency response and crisis management plans• Monitor assurance of business health compliance and management, taking account of diverse legal frameworks, cultures, business focus and objectives• Define and assess regional health capability and assist in the development of capability at business level and provide oversight to country and region-specific outsourcing activities• Lead and deliver through the team of Health professionals within the region, comprising of the Regional Health Manager, Country Health Managers, Health Discipline Leads, Occupational Health Advisors, and others

Leading Shell Health Malaysia Downstream and Projects & Technology business based in Shell Malaysia’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, I oversee the Health operations here in the 2 major business, including Shell Business Operations in Cyberjaya, Shell Port Dickson refinery, Lubes Oil Blending Plant, and all terminals nationwide.I ensure compliance to both Shell’s internal requirements as well as local legislation (including the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Ministry of Health, etc). I led the occupational health activities in the northern states of Malaysia. Being a team leader, I am grateful to manage a nursing sister, occupational health nurse, and environmental health officer in my team. Our core duties include my leading the occupational health team into workplaces of various companies and industries to ensure that health and safety acts and regulations are adhered. As the head of occupational health division, I also receive reports of occupational injuries and poisoning around the northern region in which I plan the investigation before leading the team into the particular workplace to investigate the work-related injuries or poisoning. Specific roles and responsibilities:1. To plan, coordinate and implement occupational health activities2. To investigate occupational diseases and poisoning reported to DOSH3. To conduct screening tests associated with health risks if necessary for employees exposed to hazards and develop symptoms. This include implementing the Basic Occupational Health Program designed for small and medium industries (SMI), which focuses on screening employees of SMIs and providing education on occupational health and safety topics. 4. To monitor the duties, responsibilities, health and medical surveillance conducted by occupational health doctors recognized by DOSH.• Discuss and advocate the NADOPOD regulations• Conduct monitoring of reports, in particular • USECHH 4, 5(i), 5(ii) reports• Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) reports• Audiometric Reports5. Implementation of the Code of Practice for the Prevention and Management of HIV / AIDS in the workplace for various corporations.6. Implementation of the Code of Practice for the Prevention and eradication of drug abuse, alcohol and dangerous substances in the workplace.7. Provide healthcare to personnel in the Department through the governmental initiative, MyHess (My Health Surveillance System).
