My career started at Telkom performing transmission functions. I furthered my studies with a Masters Diploma in Electrical Engineering Light Current(T5). Telkom then offered me a Transmission Project Management function in the mega line department.Later in August 1999 I joined MTN as a Project Manager controlling the National Transmission rollout for MTN SA. A database requirement surfaced and I managed the maintenance, development and was involved with the tender for the new database.The database was dubbed Network Infrastructure Management System(NIMS) and was upgraded three times i.e. Engineering DBASE System to Omnix then to Remedy,NIMS 2 and NIMS 3. I gave national database training and support to MTN and External Project Managers. I supported Access Implementation Head Office with all its customers i.e. Radio and Transmission Planning, Property, Finance, Operations,Quality and the Capital Projects Office. My professional input with regard to database design and workflow structures aided MTN to successfully manage projects.When we started in 1999, approximately 2000 active projects exists, and now we performing 30 000 active projects.Working with the Senior Manager Access Implementation, I have aided in strategic planning, budget control, implementation and commissioning of network projects.The 1st September 2011, I was promoted to Manager Transmission Implementation.My Job Profile covered all transmission streams related to fiber and microwave for all MTN Radio/Transmission, EBU and Broadband Infrastructure customers etc.I personally love new technology/challenges and getting my fingers dirty in understanding the product/subject, and then implementing it from start to end.A new era, and renewable energy is key to our future.In 2016 my focus on how to get out my comfort zone was launched, solar intrigued me, and 3 years later Gigantic Solar come together. Looking forward to servicing many Green Hearts and Souls.
