Handled antenna design aspects from aperture size to beam-forming architecture in support of proposal activities as well as contributed to projects for the Navy, Marine Corp., SOCOM, and classified agencies.Established test procedures and conducted initial antenna characteristics testing.Completed aperture and radome design from concept through fabrication for the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Solid State Array (CSSA) project, delivering 24 units to the customer on time and within budget.Reduced production antenna test time from one week to three days by training junior engineers in near-field antenna measurements; also led design, build, and operation of Near-Field Range NFR) for antenna testing.Functioned as technical lead for SOCOM’s Standard Microwave Antenna X-band (SMAX) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) planar array.

Served as group leader for Antenna Design Department, overseeing antenna and radome design for ground-based, shipboard, airborne, and space antenna systems as well as R&D projects.Appointed as project or lead engineer for projects of the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Air National Guard, and classified agencies; included aperture/radome design for Ship Board Active Antenna (SBAA) totaling $2M in product costs; Planar Active Aperture Antenna (PAAA) totaling $1.5M in production costs; and F-16 phased array antenna used in airborne Identification Friend or For (IFF) systems for the US Air National Guard’s Air Defense Aircraft (ADA). Designed in-door and out-door antenna measurement test range facilities.Contributed to antenna design for proposals and system studies, including Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), Boost Surveillance & Tracking System (BSTS), and various GPS Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA).Held roles prior to Raytheon including Section Head for Antenna Design with Dayton-Granger; Principal Engineer for Raytheon’s Antenna & Microwave Systems Department; and Engineer with Sperry Defense Electronics. Efforts included overseeing technical direct and engineering team for design, development, and production transfer of various electronic warfare, communications, and radar antenna systems for commercial and defense customers.
