I have experience collaborating on culturally diverse teams to establish and execute complex project scopes, developing execution plans and managing project teams. I have a strong foundation in estimating budgets and schedules, managing and performing scopes of work, reporting findings and recommendations, and supporting implementation of selected recommendations. I emphasize integrity by authentic communication with internal and external management and teams about project issues. I am a strong proponent of collaborating with and inclusive empowerment of team members by engaging them in planning and scope execution ownership. I have led a number of projects where I was far from the expert, but I have been able to draw on team member’s expertise to work through issues to effectively complete the project. I encourage team member’s engagement by letting them know their input is important and that they are fully authorized to provide input into the process. I enjoy speaking to people to get to know them. I find that showing an interest in people’s lives, what their interests are, about their families and what they enjoy adds to the team experience. It enhances the team mandate from simply project completion, to creating a little bit of community where the team members are valued as individuals, not just for the work they contribute to the team. Additionally, getting to know the individual team members aids in being informed on the hidden diversity within the team.I think it is important to recognize the contributions of team members to a project. So often there is no recognition when people do “their job,” but I believe when others do “their job” well that should be acknowledged to provide encouragement.
