As the NSR Facility Manager, Moore managed a team (24 professionals and over 40 operators) that developed and implemented a startup plan addressing all issues (e.g., order compliance, safety analysis, conduct of operation, training, checkout) associated with plutonium processing facilities.Moore also lead the successful startup of a fully-automated replacement precipitator system, which ran at capacity its first day of operation. Prior to start-up leadership, Moore served as “lead-process” liaison (including 2-3 years on assignment in Wilmington, DE) in overseeing design for several new SRS plutonium facility projects. During these years, Moore received a DOE Award of Excellence.

Moore managed a team of 30 professionals and 80 operators who operated the SRS plutonium finishing operations, which recovered plutonium from legacy materials and which producedplutonium for use in nuclear weapons and in nuclear fuels (e.g., Fast Flux Test Facility fuel). Duringthese years, production goals were met without serious injury to employees. Moore also rotated through special assignments supporting design of SRS high-level waste tanks and startup and decommissioning of special plutonium processes.
