At Seer Green farm our day to day operations include and are not limited to; • Rearing and feeding Day-old chicks which must be handled with utmost care. This is provision of meal plans, proper ventilation and vaccination of a flock.• Brooding which is the provision of artificial heat via gas to help the chicks in temperature regulation. This helps in the productivity of quality birds.• Chick placement. This includes having a systematic and efficient programme in place. This programme must start before the chicks arrive on site to provide a basis for an efficient and profitable flock of broilers.• Record keeping. Accurate record keeping is essential to monitor the performance and profitability of a flock and to enable forecasting, programming, and cash flow projections to be made.• Poultry hygiene. As soon as the previous flock has been cropped, the chicken house and all equipment must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
