CORNELL UNIVERSITY IS NEW YORK STATE’S LAND GRANT UNIVERSITY CONNECTING WITH CITIZENS THROUGH STRONG RESEARCH, CAMPUS LEARNING PROGRAMS AND THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION SYSTEM.• Coordinated the Youth-to-Youth Literacy Program, which engaged grade school children in literacy-related activities while Cornell University student interns broaden their exposure to public service issues• Coordinated the Cybermentor Program, which linked high schools students in Manhattan and the Bronx with Cornell alumni who acted as “cybermentors” providing on-line ideas and resources for pursuing educational and career paths; Provided instruction for high school students on career exploration, resume writing, and workplace issues• Coordinated the YouthNet Program which linked youth to the Internet by providing community-based access to technology in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx; Provided instruction on Internet usage and website creation• Coordinated the 4-H Youth Volunteer Program
