I was introduced to rope access in 2000, when a multinational telecommunications company in the Philippines required my services to train their engineers and rigger on safely climbing and working on their towers. I was working as a civil engineer during this time and heavily involved in competitive sportclimbing. My working relationship with this company lasted thirteen years. I went around the whole Philippines training their people. In 2005, a power-distributing company got my services to train their telecom division. Also, in the rudiments of safely working at heights. They advised me to take safety courses to further my career in safety training. In 2006, I took my first safety course under the Bureau of Working Conditions of the Department of Labor and Employment; Basic Occupational Safety and Health. I was their trainer until 2009. Around the same time, a telecom equipment supplier with headquarters in Israel acquired my services, to provide training to their client's personnel, as part of their service package. They sent riggers from other countries where they supply equipment, such as Indonesia and India.Through recommendations from my clients, I was able to provide basic rope access and rope rescue training in powerplants, such as the Mauban Powerplant in Quezon Province; provide assistance during the NDT of Caliraya Hydroelectric Powerplant in Laguna, and twice, assisting in the NDT and and as standby rescuer during plant shutdown of the biggest fuel refinery in the Philippines, Petron Bataan Refinery, in 2012 and 2017 respectively. In 2015, for the first time, I brought my services to Myanmar, when a training provider took me to train telecom technicians and riggers of a Norwegian company. For almost a month, I trained 80 plus people from China, Myanmar, India and others from South Asia.In 2018, a Korean contractor company of Petron Bataan Refinery took my services to train their personnel. They work in the flares of this fuel refinery. The following month, I took my IRATA Level 1 training in Singapore. Upon returning from Singapore, I was hired as a caulker rope access technician in the newly built Mactan-Cebu International Airport. After this stint, I took contract works cleaning windows, inspecting facade and repairing glass sealant. I also did glass replacement and glazing. IN 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, I was hired as a Quality and Safety Manager of a telecom sub-contractor company. Communication is a utility, so it shouldn't stop providing services. In 2023, I visited Canada.
