I'm a Scientific Staff Member at PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. I apply my knowledge and skills as an economist to the ex ante and ex post assessment of environmental policy instruments.My research is aimed at providing advice to policy makers on effective and efficient climate changemitigation policy instruments, based on sound economic analysis. I'm currently working on a global assessment of carbon pricing instruments and a methodological report on assessing Dutch nitrogen and nature policies.I hold a Ph.D. in economics from Tilburg University (CentER, 2008) and published several scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including European Economic Review, Environmental and Resource Economics, Energy Economics, Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, and Forest Policy and Economics.In a recent Open Access paper in Ecological Economics, Herman Vollebergh, Johanna Vogel and I present a descriptive framework to take stock of existing instruments and describe their attributes and their coherence. We then apply our framework to the Austrian residential and commercial buildings sector.
