I teach the "Materials and Manufacturing" course. It covers the fundamentals of manufacturing and how various factors can affect industrial and product design. As part of the class we visit local vendors in an effort to expose the students to as many processes as possible, though much of this comes from sharing parts from my own projects and other consumer products.(In previous semesters, I have taught Design Communication 3 in which we cover the essentials of technical drawing practice, Solidworks modeling and drawing, and an introduction to Adobe illustrator.)

As a product design firm, we helped clients in a variety of industries, including consumer product, medical, factory automation, marketing experience, cosmetics...even some crazy custom furniture! The bulk of our work involved quickly developing constraints and iterating upon electromechanical designs, having both engineering and fabrication abilities in-house. We conducted user research when needed during this process, from initial product feature discovery to final product testing.
