As a recent graduate from Kenyatta University with a degree in Environmental and Urban Planning, I am driven by my passion for humanitarian work and my dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of young people. I am a highly motivated and committed individual with a strong focus on achieving my goals.Throughout my time in college and in my various roles, I have had the opportunity to work with a range of organizations and groups, taking on a variety of responsibilities. For example, I currently serve as a Safety Ambassador in Mathare, where my advocacy work focuses on improving the lives of those living in informal settlements in Nairobi, such as Kibera. I am also a proud Girl's Champion in my community, where I work to promote gender equality and inclusivity. In addition to my work on the ground, I am a global winner of the Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge (GenU 2.0) run by UNICEF. This has allowed me to take on the role of Youth Mobilizer, rallying young people in Mathare to join the fight against climate change with the help of UNICEF and its partners. As a result of this work, I have also become a climate activist in Nairobi, working with organizations like the MSJC on ecological justice. I am also a human rights activist and a member of the Kenya Human Rights Working Group. My passion for research is also evident in my work. I have conducted research in a number of academic institutions, including Kenyatta University and the University of Trier in Germany, as well as organizations such as the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research, the UNODC, the British Institute for East Africa, and the Ghetto Foundation in Kenya. I have produced several unpublished papers and have published a major work on youth and unemployment entitled "Entreprenuring Ourselves Out of Poverty". I have a deep understanding of Community-Led Research as a research methodology.Lastly, I am an SDG ambassador, a role that I have taken on as a result of my involvement with the UNDP through its accelerator lab programs. My interest in sustainability has been further fueled by my participation in the HEDGES program, run by UNESCO in collaboration with Kenyatta University and other global higher education institutes.I am looking forward to making a lasting impact on the environment and the lives of young people through mentoring programs, life skills training, and support. I am also eager to continue to develop my professional career through teamwork, effective communication, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
