Hello! I'm Edwin. I graduated from Northwestern with a BS in Communication Studies (plus, a concentration in Digital Media), as well has having completed academic work in the fields of Data Science, Integrated Marketing Communications, and Human-Computer Interaction.I became interested in the intersection between the quantitative and qualitative when I was young, but the intersection between communications, marketing, data, and design is where I feel most at home, and where I have been able to make the most impactful change. I've been able to bring my diverse set of skills to organizations like GroupM, Match Group's Plenty of Fish, the Associated Press, and more. Using the power of integrated marketing and data analytics, I've turned $10k+ daily ad spend into an interactive dashboard for Plenty of Fish, launched 13 programmatic campaigns - some having $1M+ budgets - for a major CPG client at GroupM, and assisted in AP's live election reporting four Novembers in a row. This was all through learning and using tools of the trade like Excel, SQL, Tableau and R for data analysis. I'm also passionate about creating positive change, as seen in my work for various organizations. At college access org Matriculate, I increased remote recruitment by 200% through a refreshed social media presence, as well as mentoring 3 underserved students myself. I've also done research for a Chicago-based transit equity organization, led the creation of a $250 BIPOC research grant for Northwestern's Communication Studies department, and mentored dozens of students as part of my leadership experiences at WNUR, Northwestern's Summer Academic Workshop, and CollegePoint.When I'm not doing work, I'm a musician and DJ. I also keep myself updated on the latest in tech, music, and internet culture. When I choose to unwind, you can find me reading my favorite blogs while listening to a meticulously organized playlist.I'm thrilled to be able to bring my combination of skills to organizations like yours. But beyond data science, marketing, design, and communications, I'll bring my passion for innovation and positive change.
