I was a volunteer at Glendowie Playcentre which is a parent-run, licensed early childhood education centre. In the role of Co-President, which I held for 2 years.

Whilst part of the Middle Market Solutions team I was a Business Analyst focused mainly on the Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. I was involved in several implementations of the Dynamics AX system and implementation of Microsoft CRM. My clients included a tea company, painting and decoration tools company and a chain of book stores and a business incubator.My role during these projects included:• Facilitating workshops and running training sessions.• Documenting the customer’s business processes and redesigning them as needed to match the ERP system or specifying any changes that were needed to the ERP system. I liaised directly with the client teams as well as the developers.• Configuring the finance module of Dynamics AX to support the mapped business processes.• Supporting data conversion, system testing, user training.• Providing ongoing customer support post implementation.• I was given project management responsibilities on a number of engagements. This encompassed developing and managing project plans, liaising with the clients and completing project reporting as required. • Involvement in the sales cycle. This included working on documentation for Request for Proposal responses, building sales demonstrations and attending sales meetings.• Participating in formalising the in-house methodology and producing standardised templates to streamline the documentation process.

As a Senior Business Analyst at CGNZ, I was involved in several projects. As part of a team which developed bespoke systems, I spent several months in the Health sector mapping business processes and developing user requirements for a bespoke staff rostering system.In 2004 I was promoted to Manager level and moved into an ERP implementation team. Whilst working as part of the Microsoft Dynamics team I was involved in several implementations. My role included:· Workshop facilitation to determine business processes and requirements.· Analysis and documentation of the business requirements to provide a basis for the solution design.· Understanding and documenting an organisation’s business processes.· Mapping areas of fit and areas where changes were needed, based on the functionality of the ERP software package.· Defining and documenting the functional requirements for any modifications that were needed to the standard system and producing the functional specifications for these.· Helping the client to create data conversion plans to prepare for data conversion. · Configuration of the financial module of the Microsoft Axapta/Dynamics ERP system.· Performing testing to ensure that the business requirements were met.· Writing user documentation and facilitating user training workshops.· Managing user acceptance testing.

During this period, I worked as a Business Analyst on a variety of projects: a bespoke back-end and integration project for an offshore utility company; a data warehousing project for an airline; the user design and build of a web application for a professional services organisation and a change management project for a division of the Ministry of Health. My ability to quickly learn about new organisations and methodologies and acquire skills was a key strength during this period.

At Deloitte, I was a member of the Enterprise Risk Services team who supported the Financial Audit team in reviewing risks around financial systems. In this role I had exposure to a large number of different industries including telecommunications, energy, manufacturing and aviation. The role included meeting with clients; gaining an understanding of certain key business processes; documenting and evaluating these processes from an audit risk perspective, and writing recommendations and reports. I also took part in in-house financial audit and risk services training, and obtained an ICANZ qualification as well as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association ISACA qualification.
