• Manage surgical supply availability and inventory in collaboration with material coordinators • Develop policies and procedures to improve quality within the service line operating rooms I'm managing surgical supply availability and ensuring that specialty instruments are appropriately maintained (in coordination with Central Sterile Processing). Develops and implements programs, policies and procedures to improve quality within the Operating Room Service line across all campuses and actively participates in perioperative quality initiatives. Collaborates with all surgeons to standardized supplies and equipment for maximum patient throughput (resulting in achievement of budgeted volumes and patient satisfaction) and ensures cost efficiencies by procuring and maintaining inventory levels

My responsibilities are preparing the operating room and the patients, laying out the necessary surgical instruments, assemble any equipment that would be used. Check for any malfunctions and make any needed adjustments. During surgery I assist the surgeons with instruments as directed by the surgeons, applied electro cautery to control hemostasis on bleeders, suturing wounds, applying dressing, handling tissue, cutting stitches, any specimens taking from the patient for later study. While the surgeon is preoccupied, I'm responsible for keeping an eye on the patients vitals signs and other charts. Keep accurate records throughout the procedures.
