The future is a foreign country, but perhaps not as unknowable as you might think. Although the future cannot be objectively measured or probed, possible futures can be explored in the imagination and inspire action today. More often than not, form follows fiction, and the imaginable informs the actionable. I have 10+ years of experience in researching the cultural and technological meta-trends that shape society and in the development of speculative scenarios that aid organisations in exploring possible futures and strategic decision and policy making. I was originally trained as an as an Architect (TU Delft), worked as design researcher, writer and editor (Archis/Volume, Jan Van Eyck Academy, Partizan Publik) and co-founded my futurology practice Studio Monnik together with Christiaan Fruneaux.
