Contract Role Process Automation Software engineer for a number of projects.1) Project - “Blane-tie-back-to-Ula”Connecting the new BP “Blane” oilfield to the existing BP oil platform “Ula”. ABB delivers all the Industrial IT based process automation; the operator panels, process control systems and field-IO-interfacing. The project took place in Stavanger (software- and hardware engineering), The Nymo shipyard in Grimstad (integration tests) and the Ula platform (commissioning). The control system has four process controllers: the Fire and Gas system, the Process Control System, the Process Shut Down System and the Emergency Shut Down System. These controllers are object oriented and are programmed with Program Builder: an ABB specific engineering tool.Main Activities: • Development, • testing and • commissioning (on a shipyard) the automation of this installation.Technology used: • ABB Industrial IT Process-control system with a SIL2 (security) rating and a fail-save design. • Visual Basic for the operator screens.Achievements: • Successful implementation and • commissioning of the system.2) Project - “Ula Gas Upgrade” Software interfacing (based on Modbus) between the ABB Industrial IT System and a Solar Turbine/Compressor unit. Have been to San Diego for engineering and tests.Activities• Development and testing of a software interface. Contract Role Process Automation Software engineer for a number of projects.1) Project at Fuji Netherlands, Tilburg - “Renewal of all automation and drive-systems of a photo-paper-coating-machine”. This coater-machine delivers all Fiji's photo paper for Europe and surroundings. It was my task to do the Software engineering for the four AC-80 process computers with a ABB-specific, graphical programming tool named Advabuild, to and to do on-site commissioning.Main Activities: • Writing technical documents; functional specification document and the signal interfacing document and maintenance support guide, • Developing, testing and commissioning the software for four ABB AC-80 process computers.Additional Activities: • Creating Java tools to render programming code for the AC80 process computers in order to improve productivity and quality.Technology used: • ABB AC-80 process computers, • JDeveloper 9.03, • ABB Drive System.Achievements: • Successfully completed all assigned tasks on time.2) Project at Mayr-MelnHof, Eerbeek – “Renewal of all automation and drive-systems of KM3; a 200 meter long paper machine”. In order to increase productivity the process automation and drive systems were renewed. Activities: • Software engineering for the five object oriented AC800 process computers using Control Builder. Programming the six Graphic Operator Panels (GOP). • Creating software interfaces for other control systems. • Writing a maintenance support guide. • Commissioning and start-up.Technology used: • ABB Industrial IT Process-control system: AC800. • ABB Drive Systems• Graphical Operator Panels.Achievements: • Successfully delivered this project on time and on budget. • It was the first time this technology used was for a paper-machine in The Netherlands; an AC800 controller and the PMC800 Software Library and AC-electrical drives.

3) Project in the Port of Lake Charles (USA) – “Recommissioning / start-up of two bag-loader-cranes”. After five years of inactivity, the cranes were recommissioned.Activities• Adapting the software for the CS31 and T200 process computers.• Engineering, installing and commissioning a brand new fibre-optic crane-quay communication system (based on Modbus). • Testing and checking all systems; also the electrical drives. Performing a performance test. • Writing a commissioning report.Technology used• ABB Process Control, • ABB Drive System and Modbus InterfaceAchievements• Successfully completed all assigned tasks on time.4) Project at Nedalco, Sas van Gent – “Automation of a new alcohol production plant”. ABB delivered all automation and operator stations for this brand new plant. Activities• Developing and commissioning the process-sequences and their visualization. • Developing and commissioning a task-planning-and-execution module that enabled the operators to schedule operational tasks.Technology used • ABB Industrial IT Process-control system: AC800. • MS Visual Studio for the operator screensAchievements: • Successfully completed all assigned tasks on time. • Also I used my Java-programming skills to generate the sequence programming code for the controllers using excel-sheets that contained the sequence-step descriptions; that improved accuracy (quality) and speed of the programming dramatically.

5) Project at Shell Rijswijk – “Renewing automation and drive-systems of Oil-Test-drilling equipment and Mud-pumps”.The Drive-system and automation was renewed so that three mud-pumps can operate synchronously with a phase shift.Activities: • Software engineering for the process computer. • Developing the GUI: Operator Panels, • Writing the Factory Acceptance Test-document and to perform the FAT with the client.Technology used • ABB Industrial IT Process-control system: • AC800. • ABB AC-Drives, • Graphical Operator Panels.Achievements: • Successfully completed all assigned tasks on time. • The synchronization module was technically very challenging and works very well.
