An internship through the Editing Practicum program at Black Moss Press run by esteemed Windsor author and Poet Laureate Emeritus Marty Gervais. I was elected to lead a group of fifteen student interns in assembling, editing, and marketing “Where The Map Begins,” a collection of poetry about Windsor featuring authors such as Laurie Smith, Peter Hrastovec, and Dan MacDonald. I directed productive communication and research between students with various roles, ensuring the timely completion of assigned tasks and the consistent meeting of deadlines from Black Moss Press. I was also involved in copy editing the final manuscript alongside three other students, developing possible artistic and grammatical changes while communicating with each author.

This part-time position involved daily tasks such as the restocking of produce, meat, and bread sections according to a retail floor layout; completing general custodial duties to maintain health and safety standards; and providing great customer service by receiving large commercial orders and responding to customer needs. I also ensured accurate product scanning and identified inventory needs using SAP ERP inventory software. Furthermore, this position required the maintaining of up-to-date Microsoft Word and Excel files detailing store inventory, promotions, and customer returns.

As a student operator, I fulfilled the duties of multiple positions such as forklift driver, bottling line supplier, bottling line operator, and palletizer operator according to warehouse needs. These positions required me to operate and maintain forklifts, industrial palletizers, and bottling lines alongside a team of employees. I also maintained accurate warehouse inventory using HighJump Warehouse Management Software.
