As a project engineer in the Baggage Projects group, I have managed 3 multi-year capital expansion projects for the YVR baggage system infrastructure, with a value totalling $63 million. The YVR baggage handling system consists of kilometers of intertwined conveyors and specialized equipment, so I put on both project management and engineering hats to deliver these projects successfully.In one notable experience, I mobilized and aligned 17 stakeholder groups – including YVR operational teams, airlines, consultants, contractors, to design and execute a unified plan to mitigate critical baggage system impacts caused by project construction.My role spans the course of the entire project lifecycle and tackles a multitude of disciplines such as process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, controls, software, and systems engineering, as well as architecture and environment.

I led and managed $3.5M+ in steel manufacturing projects, including:- Pressure piping and vessels for the wastewater, petroleum, and power generation industries- Electrical houses and operator cabins for a large mining operationMy primary role is to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget, as well as to serve as the primary point of contact with the client. As someone who enjoys wearing different hats, I am deeply involved in manufacturing design and resolving technical issues related to the structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.

I took on larger and more complex projects when I transitioned into the role of a Project Manager. I also familiarized myself with ASME piping codes and the technical specifications of my clients. This allowed me to support the Engineering, Production, and Quality teams by ensuring that the products that we built complied with relevant specifications, codes, and standards.

As a Junior Project Manager, I was assigned small- to medium-sized manufacturing projects. After successfully executing a demanding piping project, which led to securing 7 additional contracts, I was promoted to the role of Project Manager.

At G&G Music Ltd., I taught piano and drumset to over 20 students, ranging from young children to adult learners. Each lesson was tailored to the objectives and unique personalities of each student, a challenge which I particularly enjoyed. I received positive feedback from both students and their parents regarding their music lessons, where I strived to inspire and share the joy of making music.

I worked on four projects that led to the discovery of a material capable of reducing ice adhesion strength by 90%. Along the way, I explored laser-matter interaction, femtosecond laser micromachining, fractal mathematics, superhydrophobicity, carbon nanotubes, and even fracture mechanics! The results of my work have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
