Edwin Torres DeSantiago is a seasoned political strategist with extensive experience in successful local, state, and national campaigns. Born in El Salvador during a civil war and raised in Los Angeles, Edwin overcame significant adversities, driving his pursuit of higher education and community impact.Edwin became the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University with a degree in Political Science. His dedication to helping others has garnered recognition from national organizations and features in The New York Times, highlighting his inspiring journey as a DACA recipient.Edwin has played a pivotal role in historic victories for prominent Minnesota leaders, including Governor Tim Walz, Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, Senator Tina Smith, and Senator Amy Klobuchar. He is actively engaged in his community, serving on the Board of Trustees for the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University and as a board member for COPAL MN, FairVote MN, and Good Trouble.He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota. This Fall, Edwin will become the first undocumented immigrant and DACA recipient to pursue a Ph.D. at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, supported by a full scholarship.Residing in the western Twin Cities suburbs with his partner Ricardo and their Shih Tzus, Snoopy, and Mochi, Edwin exemplifies resilience, dedication, and community engagement.
