Edwin Okong'o is a storyteller by any medium necessary™He is an award-winning journalist, humorist, satirist, and cartoonist. He is the producer and co-host of Africa Mix on KALW 91.7 FM in San Francisco, California.Okong’o received his Master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied radio, newspaper, magazine, and online multimedia storytelling and editing. His journalistic work, commentary, and stand-up comedy have appeared in numerous media, including the Huffington Post, the Guardian, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland Tribune, New America Media, PBS Frontline/WORLD, the Africa Channel, the Daily Nation, the Star, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and Mshale.He has won several honors, including a Webby Award for his short documentary, Kenya: Sweet Home, Obama.He is working on his first book, a memoir about his painful pursuit of education, which began in the evergreen bucolic highlands of southwestern Kenya, where he was born.
