Responsible for leading and managing a team of 45 members, with an annual budget of 150 MEUR. The team is made up of various sales channels managing our local and global key customers. The role requires significant collaboration within the DHL network to ensure that the team is able to bring the best value to our customers. I oversee a multi-cultural sales team that includes Thai, Taiwanese, Japanese, Australian, and Singaporean members. I’m proud and privileged to work with a diverse group of individuals that contribute to the development of new business while also ensuring continuous business growth of existing product lines.Our team continues to excel and is recognized as among the best in Asia across all sales metrics measured. This culminated with the team being awarded as the “Asia Pacific Sales Team of the Year” in 2015.

I led a 35-member team across India, with responsibilities that included developing business across eight key industry sectors including Automotive, E&M, Chemical, Technology, Aviation, Life Sciences, Retail and Consumer. Our team built strategies to consolidate business in mature sectors and drove growth in new industry sectors that led to top line revenue year-over-year. We worked with national field sales teams to secure new business and aided DHL’s Global Sector Management Teams in aligning local strategies with the overall global strategic direction.I personally led the sales strategy, contract negotiations and implementation of profitable contracts within various industry sectors. I also aided in the re-engineering of the sales structure to better support our overall business strategy.

I was responsible for development of the automotive sector business for DHL Global forwarding in Africa and South Asia Pacific. I was promoted to this position from managing the India division, and with the new position increased direct reports by incorporating business managers from India, South East Asia, South Asia Pacific and Africa.In addition to my new responsibilities, I was assigned a much larger budget and given the means to recruit, train and develop strong and successful sales teams. I focused on preparing and implementing sales budgets to ensure profitable growth. I also re-engineered the sales structure to better support the overall business strategy.

I began by position in India developing the automotive sector business for DHL Global forwarding. I was eventually promoted and expanded my responsibilities to both Africa and South Asia Pacific.
