Mission: To sustainably elevate driver’s quality of life at scale via technology.Responsible for the livelihood of 2.5 million drivers and their families. Build and lead a new business team in creating, refining and implementing strategies, products, systems and processes. Strategic priorities: managing driver main source of income (marketplace allocation, driver app features, pricing, fees and incentives), creating new sources of revenue for drivers (driver as sales agent and driver as data collector), lowering driver cost of living (driver operational and living expenses), and enabling driver to achieve more in life (life planning and financial services).

Managing business end-to-end, people and PnL in over 30 cities with a headcount of 300+ people. The largest hospitality company in Indonesia in less than 1 year time of operation. Grew Sumatera 10x in 8 months.

Responsible for the growth, overall strategic planning, and end-to-end business and people management in 27 cities spanning 10 provinces in Sumatera Region, Indonesia. Grew the business 28x in 2 years.

Edy Tan served as a Special Advisor to the TwinFocus, a premier multi-family office managing over USD 6B in assets headquartered Boston, USA. Based in Indonesia, he provided economic intelligence on Asia as well as unique access to private equity investment offerings. Edy was part of the founding team at TwinFocus, and originally joined the firm in Boston at its inception in 2006.

ANGIN's first subsidiary. ANGIN (Angel Investment Network Indonesia) is the first and largest angel investor network in Indonesia. It gathers 46 high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) who pool resources together to engage in early-stage investment and mentoring. ANGIN team supports entrepreneurs on their fundraising journey by equipping them with the right assets and connecting them with like-minded investors, to ensure these entrepreneurs get the right resources at the right terms. Currently, the company has invested in 23 companies coming from tech, non-tech, and social enterprise sector.

Medan Inovasi Bersama (MIB) was the funding arm for Medan Tech Valley and the official partner of the 1000 Digital Startup National Movement Program that was co-initiated with Indonesia’s Ministry of Communications and Informatics. The Program took progressive steps to fulfill President Joko Widodo’s vision of making Indonesia the Digital Energy of Asia by taking the leadership to spearhead the digital economy revolution in Indonesia through systematic approach in digital entrepreneurial skills and training, mentoring, incubation and funding. MIB and Insitut Teknologi Del (ITDel) formed an official partnership for the development of Digital Entrepreneurship Program in the university.

Medan Tech Valley (MTV) was the first collaborative digital startup community of its kind in Medan, Indonesia. It brought prominent business leaders, seasoned entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and budding tech entrepreneurs together in creating a conducive digital tech startup ecosystem in the city.

Edy helped launch Twin Focus Capital Partners, a Multi-Family Office firm based in Boston, USA. As the Portfolio Manager, Edy was responsible for managing firm-wide portfolio risk and asset allocation, and in conceiving, developing and implementing complex bespoke investment solutions, which include hedge funds, private equities, venture capital and real estate for the firm’s global clientele of high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, pensions and endowments. Edy held the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and the NASD Series 65 Investment Adviser License. He was a member of the CFA Institute and Boston Security Analysts Society.

UltraScience Net is an experimental research testbed funded by the US Department of Energy Office of Science to enable the development of hybrid optical networking and associated technologies to meet the unprecedented demands of large-scale science application• Single-handedly wrote a C program - ETAG Simulation - and algorithms for file transfer scheduling to simulate and analyze the performance of different network algorithms• Innovated a network algorithm to optimize online file transfer scheduling over dedicated high-speed channel• Presented research findings in laboratory weekly talk, provided program support and advised graduate students continuing the project
