The KAOMBO project is a development in Block 32 offshore Angola. The block is located at about 150km offshore Angola.The development will include six fields, Gindungo, Gengibre, Canela, Louro, Mostarda west and Caril which will be tied back to two FPSO’s.The selected concept consists of hybrid loops with one insulated production line and one non insulated service line per field. Water injection is required on all fields.Gas is exported to GEP Network.The water depth in the area extends from 1425m (Gindungo) to 1925m (Louro).Heerema Marine Contractors is responsible for the project execution of the SURF EPCI Package, which encompasses the following:• Risers (STTR type)• Production & Service Flowlines• Water Injection Flowlines• Gas Export Flowlines• Installation of Total provided Subsea EquipmentWithin Heerema's QASHE department, Project Quality Control is involved during the front-end process of projects. My role as welding engineer results in close collaboration for welding/materials/NDE with several sub-contractors and guidance during welding qualification program and production at our sub-contractors located worldwide. My involvement as QC Welding Engineer / Shift Supervisor will continue during J-lay pipeline installation program on board of our vessel the DCV Balder, starting mid November 2016 till October 2017.
