The Data Sharing Coalition is an open and growing, international initiative in which a large variety of organisations collaborate on unlocking the value of cross-sectoral data sharing. We aim to drive cross-sectoral data sharing, under control of the entitled party, by enabling interoperability between data sharing initiatives and strengthening individual initiatives.

iSHARE is a uniform set of agreements or scheme that enables organisations to give each other access to their data. Since they all work with the same identification, authentication and authorization methods, they do not need to keep making new agreements every time they want to share data.iSHARE was created on behalf of the Netherlands’ Logistics Top Sector in collaboration with dozens of public-sector and private-sector partners. Together, the partners who comply with the iSHARE Scheme create a ‘network of trust’ within which they can share data effortlessly. In this context, ‘effortlessly’ means that participants in the scheme:• Do not need costly and time-consuming integrations in order to share data;• Can share data with new and previously unknown partners;• And maintain full control over their own data at all times. They have the final say about the terms under which their data will be shared, why, with whom and for how long.

As product manager I was responsible for several services in the field of Identity & Access management. The most prominent service is SURFconext, the cloud integrator for Dutch higher education & research. Since the launch of this service in 2007, SURFconext has become a platform that is used by more than 1 million users from over 140 institution that generate over 60 million login transactions a year. SURFconext also offers strong authentication to facilitate more secure access for cloud applications that contain sensitive data (eg. student grade administration, HR application, patent sensitive research data, patient records etc).Previously at SURFnet:- Projectmanager DigiBOB: digitising the population screening for the prevention of breast cancer using lightpaths in the SURFnet6 network. I was responsible for operational contacts with our partners RIVM and Philips, as well as screening organisations.- Account Manager for Libraries and Educational and Scientific publishers.- Coordination of special interest group Identity Management that facilitates knowledge exchange between institutions in order to raise the maturity level and further professionalize Identity & Access Management in the Dutch higher education & research community.
