Jeg arbejder til dagligt med digital bygherrerådgivning, udarbejdelse af IKT-specifikationer og -procesmanualer, kollisions- og konsistenskontroller og lokationsbaseret tidsplanlægning.Jeg mener at en proces og løsning altid kan optimeres og i dette finder jeg min motivation.Jeg har igennem mit Speciale på byggeledelse og bygningsinformatik undersøgt sammenspillet mellem BIM og LCA i den danske byggebranche. Dette resulterede i, at jeg har opnået dyb indsigt i, hvordan et fremtidigt workflow mellem BIM-LCA kunne opbygges.Abstract:In the future there is a need to take the environmental impact from buildings into account. For this, life cycle assessment (LCA) is a common and standardized method. However, LCA is a complicated and time-consuming task, and this is often seen as barriers. Therefore, there is a potential to break down these barriers with building information modeling (BIM), but there is a lack of interoperability between LCA-software and BIM.Through a literature study different BIM-LCA integrations were found. Afterwards a contextual interview was conducted with two LCA-experts from a big engineering organization. The purpose of the interview was to find the industry practice of working with LCA. Based on the results from the interview two solutions were investigated. First, a solution for an increased interoperability between Revit and a Danish LCA-software was proposed. The solution was presented at a workshop. The results from the workshop were that the solution was found to be proprietary and contains processes that could not be refined. This led to a second solution based on open BIM with IFC. The second solution was presented at a new workshop and were found to support a better workflow for the future.Based on the interview and the two solutions, eight recommendations for a new LCA-tool were found. The recommendations are features that will increase the interoperability and support the BIM-LCA workflow in the future.
