How can the social housing corporation Parteon serve (future) tenants more adequatly? On the one I facilitate process optimalisations in the organisation, in order to improve customer services. Moreover, I am responsible for the strategic and tactical planning (and implementation) of social innovation projects aimed at improving the living situations of our renters. My focus areas are poverty reduction, participation, liveable neighbourhoods and youth housing. I know how to creatively bridge the gap between the lived experience of tenants and the systemic world of the organisation. To do so, I draw on methods such as participant-led-research, action research, community building and social design. I work closely with operational teams, advisors, the management team, and in- and external stakeholders. In 2023 I was projectmanager for the regional G1000 Citizen Council on Living in Zaanstreek-Waterland, commissioned by 8 social housing corporations.

A local currency in East Amsterdam that people earn by doing voluntary work. The aim of the project is to reduce poverty, improve social cohesion and stimulate the local economy. The work focused on managing relations with participating enterprises, the formalisation and digitalisation of Makkie; the expansion of the currency to surrounding neighbourhoods, and the supervision of interns.

We set up local projects in the neighbourhoods IJplein and Vogelbuurt (Amsterdam North) aimed at improving the liveability in this area, by connecting low income households with local undertakings and entrepreneurs. The project was commissioned by social housing corporation Eigen Haard and the Municipality of Amsterdam (district North).

For my thesis research I did an explorative research on the role that social housing corporations can play for renters living in poverty. For this research I used creative research methods (specifically: participant-led-photography).

An impact evaluation of the Swiss Solidarity funded tsunami recovery projects that were implemented in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India after the tsunami in December 2004 by Swiss NGOs. The study focused on housing, the social infrastructure and the economic recovery of 29 affected communities in these countries, using both quantitative (>700 respondents) and qualitative research methods (>350 individual group interviews) to gather data and draw conclusions. The findings offered an important input for the new strategy of Swiss Solidarity.
