Designated Sr. Staff Engineer for a handful of select customers. Responsible for the maintenance and operational efficiency of their MDM (mobile device management)-operations and mobile security infrastructure. Engineering custom solutions and integrating MDM-operations with existing as well as new technologies (PKI, Load Balancers, Kerberos, LDAP, etc) are a common task. Code maintainer of several support-oriented troubleshooting tools.

I am the lead author for one of the first books ever published on MongoDB, published by the worldwide renowned technical publisher APress. MongoDB is a relatively new NoSQL variant which separates it from the traditional RDMBS applications -- such as MySQL -- by its flexibility, speed and scalability. Together with two British authors I wrote the book in a relatively short period time due to tight deadlines. More than half of the content of the book was written by myself. Due to my expertise, dedication and input I became the lead author of the book, and was responsible for coordinating the front matter, back matter and ensuring that all the deadlines were met.

Promoted to Senior ECS engineer. Responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s global encryption environment. Components included disk encryption, mobile device manage- ment, policy (change) management, reporting and security evaluations. Trainer to IT staff on the aforementioned subjects. Project lead and code maintainer of an (Objective C and bash- driven) project allowing for seamless Apple-integration in an otherwise Microsoft-environment.

On-site IT System Engineer responsible for the EMEA headquarters located in Amsterdam, as well as the Dubai and Saudia-Arabia branch offices. Primary responsibilities included the configuration, installation and maintenance of all IT assets across these locations. Long-term projects include two office relocations, redesigning the physical network infrastructure and implementing VoIP.

Senior encryption engineer responsible for overseeing and troubleshooting (hard drive) encryption environments for a select set of EMEA-based enterprises. Recovering enterprise-grade encrypted data was a common task. Additional tasks included the training of (international) engineers as well as authoring, reviewing an publishing documentation. Industry-standard enterprise-grade encryption algorithms were used, such as AES-256 (primarily) and 3DES.
