My research primarily focuses on interaction design of video games and virtual worlds. I seek to make video games/virtual worlds accessible using non visual forms of feedback and or reduced amounts of input.I teach classes in game development, software engineering, human computer interaction and computer graphics. I am actively engaged in curriculum development of UNR's game engineering BS degree.

- Explored the use of Google Tango phones to develop an indoor navigation system for blind users.- Researched the mapping requirements for implementing an indoor navigation system for blind users in Google Maps. - Developed an immersive visual impairment simulation tool for Google Cardboard (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanpluslab.visimulation.simviz).

My research focused on exploring new research directions in Software Engineering and Human computer interaction in the emerging field of video games.

I was employed as a researcher on the EU funded STATUS (Software Architecture that supports Usability) project. The project studied the relationship between software architecture and usability; identifying the characteristics of software architecture that most optimally support important usability features. The three main products of my research were:ASUP: Architecture Sensitive Usability Pattern collection: A number of architectural patterns that specifically support certain usability features (undo, multiple views etc). SAUF (Software Architecture Usability Framework): a framework that illustrates the complex relationship between usability and software architecture. SALUTA: A Scenario based Architecture Level UsabiliTy Assessment Technique (SALUTA) that uses the SAUF framework to assess a software architecture's support for usability.

I was employed as a student researcher. I investigated how a real time database could be implemented to support a trunked radio systems and worked on a simulation that shows the effectiveness of different synchronization strategies for different types of network topologies.
