I Currently work at Rocialle Healthcare LTD as the sole IT support person across two sites. This job is unlike anything I've ever done, as all my work up until this point I have had a more of a team to lean on for support but also wouldn't have anywhere near the scope of opportunity that I have now. No two days are ever the same for me, due to me being in this unique position and the environment in which I work in, I could really be doing anything. Some days will be a more relaxed day working from home on new projects, coding something into an application, or taking part in meetings.Other days I could be running Cat 5 cables through the ceiling, installing and configuring new devices, taking care of the IT inventory, Fixing and re purposing equipment, supporting and training users. And given that the sites are a mix off warehouse, office and manufacturing, I'm always working in interesting environments, like in a clean room, high up on a ski-lift or in a production plant surrounded by large operating machinery. I always enjoyed pushing myself to do things I've never tried, be it in going for this position or going to a new place in the world. Basically anything that scares me or makes me feel somewhat anxious about dling is what I do and in living like this I've managed to go further than I ever thought I could. I came from a drop out who couldn't get an A-level or find any joy in work to now educating and building myself to work in the IT industry and progress quickly to where I am now. And for me this is just the beginning. I intent to be on the forefront of technology which is why I have begun a new journey, educating myself in the world of AI. I am now in the process of learning how to develop AI using various coding languages with the assistance of the IBM AI developer course and soon to be many others once I have completed this in order to enable me to work on what I love from where ever I am in the world.

It Support Engineer
Current- Some additional information on my current role can be found in the about section-Currently work at Rocialle Healthcare LTD as the sole IT support person across two sites. I manage the IT infrastructure, from all office / desk side equipment (PCs, docking stations, desk phones, MFD / label printers) to the server rack devices (Switches, NVRs / DVRs), and wider network (Windows server 2019, CCTV , VMs , VLANs,) in addition to keeping track of inventory, ordering new equipment as needed. - I'm responsible for the administration of end-user devices and accounts such as deploying / wiping laptops, workstations and mobile phones. Setting up and deactivating user accounts, all done within a Hybrid AD environment.- There are a variety of vendor devices in the environment - Dell, Toshiba, Cisco, Paxton, Zebra, Hikvision, Dahua, Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, HP - I use various management software's for troubleshooting and configuration - Microsoft 365 Admin centre , Cisco Meraki, Cisco 3CX Admin console, IVMS, SmartPSS- There is a mix of bespoke and common software that I support including office 365, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 (soon to be MS Business Central), Sage V29, Fylogy, Adobe products, 3CX user app- Take lead on new projects and installations - Things like installing and configuring Yealink PoE Desk phones and DECT handsets for all users, running audits of Microsoft Intune devices, overseeing the installation of new fiber lines with Openreach and work with our MSP on more complex / time consuming tasks- Travel to other offices sometimes as needed
Service Desk Analyst
I worked on contract remotely to NHS hospitals across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg region using the Service Point ticketing system to pick up and log calls from a web portal or inbound phone calls. I would remotely troubleshoot hardware and software by use of SCCM and Beyond Trust remote support with users on-site and on remote VPN connections.I used Active Directory to resolve issues with user accounts and manage access across a range of platforms and sites based on GPOs and role-based permissions. Hardware support included troubleshooting FAT and Thin client PCs, mobile devices (IOS and Android), PC docking stations and MFD printers from brands such as Dell, Canon and Konica to name a few. Software support ranged from virtual Windows PCs running in Citrix cloud, to Office 365 applications, the main ones being Outlook, Teams and Excel. I also supported bespoke clinical applications used for patient administration. I used Citrix Director, Aternity, Windows Server 2008 / 2012, Office 365 Admin Centre, Endpoint Manager and Microsoft Azure to manage user accounts, their access to network resources and to troubleshoot issues relating to this. I also pick up and review blocked emails to check against the cyber policies in place to protect from PII leakage and to reduce threats relating to Phishing, spam etc.
Technical Support Engineer
I worked in a small team with 5 other colleagues using CRM and TeamViewer to provide pre and post-sales technical support to engineers that install Audio Visual (AV) equipment and security systems. I supported a variety of vendors including Hikvision, Hanwha, I-Pro, TP-Link, Suprema, Netgenium and Ligowave to name a few. The devices DVS supplies ranges from IP / analogue cameras, digital / network video recorders, to access control and IoT devices, cables, switches, wireless links, and monitors.My role was to provide full support for the devices bought from DVS, this included giving technical advice to engineers, performing remote configuration, troubleshooting issues and re-creating a network environment for internal testing when we encountered a new issue that we are unable to resolve through remote access to the customer site. I also supported the bespoke Video management software (VMS) client and server applications for mobile phones and PCs that are used with these devices. This includes Hikconnect, Hikcentral, EZVIZ, Home control 2.0, Biostar and IVMS. I would correspond with the supplier of the device for further support when necessary, this would usually result in the creation of new firmware or software by the supplier. Additionally, I tested new releases of firmware for the AV equipment to ensure no potential bugs were present.
Information Technology Help Desk Technician
I took in-bound calls from various retail businesses, the companies I supported include Lidl, Papa Johns and ITIM. I provided first line support for all the EPOS and Back Office hardware running on Windows 7-10 operating systems, this included manned / unmanned tills, card machines, PC’s, printers, routers, switches, and all associated cabling. I took an average of 30-60 calls a day and aimed to resolve at least half of my tickets on the initial call or by the end of the day depending on the ticket SLA.My responsibilities included guiding store employees to perform checks on hardware and using various remote access applications to perform software troubleshooting such as, MSTSC, DSM, Team Viewer, Centrify and Beyond trust. If I was unable to resolve the issue, I would either pass the ticket to a Second Line technician to troubleshoot further, pass to the supplier’s IT, or arrange an engineer to attend the site. I also took calls from these engineers while they were on site to assist with remote access for software configurations and to guide them through hardware checks if necessary. Other than these main responsibilities, I worked through a queue of tickets that were logged via email by stores and individual users through a portal. Additionally, my team provided a monitoring service for Papa John’s online orders, picking up any failed customer orders through email notifications with the aim of responding to and resolving the issue within 15 minutes of receiving the notification.
