I lead the club and manage activities and global health partnerships. This organization collaborates with Green Umbrella, a partner organization in Cambodia, to increase student involvement in creating activities for rural children. I am creating new potential revenue streams and working on increasing membership. I will be responsible for planning the yearly trip to the Green Umbrella site in Cambodia.

I was responsible for handling the club’s finances. I wrote grants to organizations and companies for donations to the club and our partners. I also planned the club’s biggest donation events through the University’s Giving Tuesday and Giving Blueday events, which raised $2,200.

I was a staff member on the local partnerships committee and assisted with developing ideas on how to expand our outreach programs.

I helped plan the University of Michigan Developmental Economics Conference, which brought researchers nationwide to present current projects and advances in developmental economics. I also assist with updating the DevEcon website and the mailing list.

I am working on a project examining differences in hiring methods for HIV health promoters in Mozambique. The project aims to improve testing within the population and determine the most cost-effective ways to hire qualified people for NGOs. I am responsible for data management and analysis, utilizing Stata to clean and process data.

I provide feedback to the Dean of Students on issues involving the mental health of students, academic advisors, transportation, and political polarization. The board is composed of undergraduate and graduate students who meet on a biweekly basis during the academic year.

The Government Relations Advisory Committee advises the Vice President for Government Relations regarding legislative activities and actions relative to university affairs.

I worked with teams from the US and the Dominican Republic to plan and coordinate the details and timeline for a surgical and education week in Santo Domingo, DR, including scheduling, fund-raising, travel, lodging, and communication. I assisted the physicians in giving lectures and providing medical care/ surgeries, as well as post-trip follow-ups and evaluations. In addition, I assisted during the surgical week with patient registration, taking vitals, running equipment, and arranging materials.

Government and Public Service consulting intern who worked on change management state healthcare projects and assisted in developing client deliverables. I assisted the team with state healthcare changes for government clients. I provided insights on improvements for the healthcare system through a health equity lens. In addition, I contributed to developing a change management model to improve the adoption of the revamped process. I wrote a set of FAQs for consumers, providers, and government workers to explain the system changes.

I researched the viability of soft skills programming, such as conflict management and creativity, to reduce intimate partner violence perpetration and victimization. I expanded the literature review beyond the scope of Western nations. I drafted an evidence review of the findings, highlighting the importance of considering context and gender when designing soft skill interventions. Females had better outcomes when the programs combined soft and hard skills, while males did better with only soft skills interventions.

I researched and presented Connecticut's economic advantages. I evaluated economic disparities by race across the 50 states and identified policies that could decrease Connecticut's wage, housing, and educational disparities. I determined that more stratified US census data by race would provide better insights into true economic disparities. For example, grouping Asians hides economic disparities within their subgroups. Current poverty metrics are outdated. I suggested utilizing the self-sufficiency standard, which takes changing costs into consideration.

Observed courtroom proceedings and learned about the legal process regarding child protective services. I learned how the attorneys, lawyers, and judges worked with the families and children to determine the best outcome overall. I also provided administrative support by filing cases and doing general office work.

I was the chief advisor to the President and Vice President of CSG regarding DEI initiatives on campus. I conducted an internal review to determine areas of improvement for the student government. I organized a town hall for cultural student leaders to voice their concerns and provide feedback regarding progress of campus DEI initiatives.
