Research Assistant and a Master's Thesis worker in the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Group. My thesis is focused on novel hydrogel materials and their applications in the field of ophthalmology. My work was partly done as a part of the Eye Group of the BioMediTech Institute.My job included a large amount of practical laboratory work, such as different analyses and characterisation and processing of biomaterials. During my thesis I have developed my research and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to efficiently absorb new knowledge. I have also become familiar with the basic principles of scientific research, such as planning the studies, documenting the results and co-thinking with other group members.

I did my Master's Thesis for the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Group in Tampere University of Technology in collaboration with the Eye Group of BioMediTech Institute. The Eye Group is a part of the Human Spare Parts regenerative medicine research program.The main research aim for the group is to develop novel stem cell based tools for the corneal and retinal repair through cell transplantation and ophthalmic in vitro tissue models.
