Represent indigent clients in contested family disputes, including divorce, paternity, custody, visitation and child support, guardianship and kinship care, and cases protecting the rights of victims of violence. Extensive client contact, including interviews, meetings, mediations, conferences, and legal correspondence. Drafting of legal documents, such as memorandum, briefs, and motions. Regular court appearances, requiring oral advocacy for clients in motion hearings and trials.

Performed substantive legal research by collaborating with the legal, legislative, and fiscal staff on multiple projects. Reviewed and drafted legislation & regulations. Wrote memos, opinion letters, and legal web content while working in tandem with departments within the executive office.

Research, in cooperation with legislative counsel, the Torrens System of land registration. Aid in management of the organization’s pro bono program, which places indigent clients with attorneys specializing in real estate law issues such as foreclosure.

Produced a research paper on the differences between government agency guidance and rulemaking and the effects on small business. Wrote memos articulating material presented at conferences and meetings attended on behalf of office attorneys. Drafted memos on congressional hearings and testimony.

Helped lead workshops on the legal, financial and psychological impacts of divorce. Assisted clients with filing for divorce, restraining orders, child custody, visitation rights, and child and spousal support. Instructed clients on filing procedures.

Created and developed “McDSP” Educational Program, which led to the adoption of the company’s software in over 100 schools in 15 countries. Drafted and updated contracts.
