Emily Finke's training is in forensic anthropology, but they switched to science education when they realized they preferred working with living people. They've been teaching in museums, nature centers, pubs, conventions, the internet, and anywhere else they can find an audience for the past 20 years. They particularly love to discuss how science and science fiction interface with society, and how we can use both to build the kind of world that we dream of in our most hopeful speculative media.They are also interested in the intersection of STEM fields with sewing, since taking a flat medium and figuring out how to make it into a three dimensional piece of clothing is a challenge that's just as difficult as any other engineering problem you could find. I also love detail work, whether that involves carefully cleaning a fossil for display or carefully stomping bugs in software development. (Make friends with living bugs. Stomp software bugs.)
