I am the leader of the Pillsbury's Los Angeles Intellectual Property group. I handle all aspects of patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and computer law with an emphasis on all aspects of computer-related technologies, including hardware, software, peripherals, computer-implemented business methods, video games, wireless communication and networking. This includes: Representing clients in patent and other intellectual property litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, often involving numerous parties and patents. Counseling clients regarding all intellectual property-related legal aspects, domestic and international, concerning the Internet, multimedia applications and on-line communication. Drafting and negotiating license, technology transfer, teaming, joint venture, source code escrow, multimedia, software and web site development, web hosting, colocation and other Internet-related agreements. Preparing patent infringement opinions, validity opinions, right-to-use opinions, and requests for reexamination. Prosecution of patent, trademark and copyright applications.I frequently lecture at conferences and trade shows on cutting-edge intellectual property matters, including those involving the Internet and the World Wide Web. I spoke at "Executive Conference of the Internet Conference Expo" on law and the web"; and at "A National Conference for Corporate Counsel," on opportunities and issues in the Internet.
