Roles evolve with the organisation at IBA.As a consequence, in this new position I'll be part of the leadership team of the "technologies" entity within IBA. This entity encompasses the Radiopharma and Industrial Business units as well as shared services like Engineering, Manufacturing and supply chain.In this context, my perimeter shrinks a bit (no system architecture team, no requirement and verification teams, no technical standards and regulation team, and no documentation team anymore), to better focus on some specific expertise at IBA and spend more time on technological scouting and other new initiatives.Looks a bit undefined at this stage, but that's the challenge as well :-)

System engineering at IBA was a large team gathering plenty of interesting people. It consisted of 5 main teams:* IP and technology research* Physics* System Architecture* Requirements and Verification* Documentation and users manualsDuring this ~5 year assignments, we collectively* went from a team of about 45 people to about 115 people,* had to deal with organisation adjustments to make it manageable* created a new team (technical standards and regulations) to be more proactive in technical standards international committees and support an homogeneous interpretation and implementation of these standards in our products* delivered new or updated our digital tools, spread training on these* kept supporting the various Business units, their roadmap and their operations

The Beam Production Systems team is a group uniting Accelerator Physicists and (mostly electromechanical) engineers within IBA R&D department.Our scope was to be in charge of accelerator-related issues: Physics concepts and studies, accelerator integration engineering (architecture, requirements,, specifications for mechanical designs, electrical designs, control and automation, testing and validation, and so forth). Support to production and operations, when needed also being part of the job, As I'm writing these lines, it is over... For better I think but I have to say that I spent a few very nice years with that team. Some of them "follow" me, others not... But I enjoyed a lot and will still always enjoy working with all of them.

Same as before, add the coordination of the Accelerator Physicists team, a team of 6 Physicists, highly specialized in cyclotron and particle beam lines studies.Core team activities and highlights during that period:* supported the production, installation and troubleshooting of IBA cyclotrons and rhodotrons when needed;* supported the commisioning and installation of the first S2C2 on the IBA proteusONE;* designed several beam lines and magnets for the various IBA business lines;* continued the technology watch activities through participation to workshops & conferences;* implemented a collaborative innovation platform at IBA, as a result/follow-up of the innovation management training at UCL.

- Study, experimental validation and characterization of neutron beam cancer treatment devices.- Monte Carlo simulation of: * Nuclear detector response * Radiation safety studies- Ion beam transport studies and design of accelerators and beam line magnets.

Study, learn about and start the design of a superconducting combined function dipole magnet dedicated to heavy ion therapy beam lines.

PhD student in the high Energy/Nuclear Physics instrumentation field. Topic: radiation hardness and QA of silicon detectors.
