Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Engineering with emphasis on Energy in Buildings. I develop efficient and energy-sustainable thermal process projects by seeking to minimize the environmental impact of thermal facilities in buildings such as freezing; refrigeration; heating; chilled, cooled and hot water systems; steam systems; ventilation, and so on. I perform calculation and modeling through OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, Model the systems through Revit. I define automation systems using, if it is possible, the implementation of IoT. I estimate work budgets, return time, life cycle, and generate project management plan (PMP) and Technical Specifications (Catalog of Concepts) of the designed elements. I audit projects in execution, make redline and as-built drawings, update BIM models through Navisworks, and create Python programs for process automation.I started my career as an HVAC engineer and, by my work and the master’s degree I took, I realized the energy inefficiency in buildings. I like the challenges in the development of sustainable projects, convincing clients to implement low-consumption systems by justifying their economic and environmental advantages with energy simulations. I am also passionate about programming. I started with Visual Basic in my undergraduate thesis with a program for calculating thermal load in refrigeration rooms with Colombian fruit, then learned Java and developed a program for calculating duct fitting losses. Then I decided to learning Python and now I support the energy efficiency research group (GEE) at the Institute of Renewable Energies of UNAM by developing EnergyPlus plug-ins for calculating low-energy consumption systems.Ten years ago, I founded DIPAC HEAT RECOVERY, developing projects in Colombia, Mexico, and the Caribbean. At this moment, we are developing specialized courses in the area of air conditioning and construction engineering for the company staff, which we have also made available to the public to promote greater environmental awareness when developing air conditioning projects.
