* Led a dynamic operations team responsible for core business functions. * Managed a team of 12-15 underwriters, with the responsibility of underwriting Personal Umbrella ($1-$25M), Watercrafts, Motorcycles, and Off-Road Vehicles. Additionally, served as the Auto/Property underwriting manager for the states of Ohio, Nebraska, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. * Developed improvements to the Knowledge Base system and underwriting guidelines based upon a fact-based deep dive analysis of new business actions. The changes resulted in a 30% reduction in new business adverse actions and a relative production improvement. Additionally, the efficiencies gained from the deep dive analysis were transferred to Auto and Property.* Responsible for national quality assurance audits of Personal Lines underwriters. Each audit contained a written evaluation of the underwriter’s performance during the month, as well as, feedback on how to improve. The audit included both electronic production and phone quality.* Installed a computer-based auditing system capable of monitoring a specified number of phone calls for each underwriter, while also recording desktop screen scrapes for the recorded call. Installation of this system resulted in improved customer service, more reliable audit results, and improved underwriter desktop efficiencies.
