Hey! I’m Emily. I’m a self-motivated Aerospace engineering third-year student at North Carolina State University. As a proactive leader with strengths in math and sciences, I seek to gain hands-on experience in industry. I am a Raleigh native, graduating from Ravenscroft School in May of 2020, with strengths in communication and collaboration. Throughout the various group projects assigned thus far in my undergraduate career, I have been a vital member of the team, always ensuring the necessary tasks are completed within the allotted time frame. A prime example of my collaborative nature comes from my team project submitted for NC State’s First-Year Engineering Design Day. As lead designer and communicator, it was my responsibility to envision a solution to the given problem, guaranteeing it fit each of the needs of the client, while keeping constant communication with team members and clients alike. With my skills and dedication, our group completed and presented a finalized physical prototype to the client. Though I am skilled in leading a team, I am also adept at managing objectives given by a supervisor and promoting efficiency within a group setting. Whenever necessary, I follow desired procedures outlined to ensure continual quality throughout group work. However, I am well prepared to take initiative if the need arises. As a student pilot, aiming for a private pilot license by the end of 2022, I am educated in personally making challenging decisions in short periods of time. Throughout my time in aviation, I have gained the tools necessary to communicate with as few words as possible. Due to my experience both as an engineer and pilot, I have become adept at the theoretical and experimental aspects of the aerospace industry giving me confidence in my abilities to tackle any challenges presented.
