The Sustainability Centre of Excellence (SCE) is ABN AMRO Bank's central sustainability department, operating globally. SCE supports the bank's mission of "Banking for better, for generations to come" by accelerating the shift towards sustainability.SCE's organizational model aligns with ABN AMRO’s structure, focusing on three key areas: climate change, circular economy & biodiversity, and social impact. By setting central goals and organizing sustainability as a bank-wide function, SCE aims to create greater cohesion on these topics. SCE also supports the bank's internal sustainability teams in achieving impact KPIs and results across the organization.

As Product Development Manager (FM), I was responsible for two environmental sustainability projects and therewith contribute to accelerating our shift to a circular business operation. These environmental sustainability projects are in the area of zero waste and reusable coffee cups:- Developed the waste policy for our branch offices- Proposed a sustainable alternative to single-use coffee cups (leakproof reusable coffee cups, made from single-use paper cups) and received permission for company-wide implementation

Participated in a Starters Program as Business Consultancy trainee at ABN AMRO with 6 other elected young professionals out of approximately 100 applicants. This program is designed to develop and mentor ‘high potential’ candidates by offering courses, workshops, and assignments within the Business Services department.1st Assignment: Business Process Management2nd Assignment: Optimization assessment of the External Supplier Relationship

Setting up programs, developing concepts and creating impactful interventions (e.g. lectures, workshops and discussions) for entrepreneurs and business professionals to raise awareness, share information and give practical tools on circular economy related themes. Additionally, I regularly scout for relevant knowledge partners that develop their own trainings, workshops, and masterclasses that can be included in our offerings. Support with processing of all occurring administrative work with emphasis on entering transactions in the back-end system related to Documentary Collection and Letter of Credit- Prepare transactions- Continue to actively attend meetings and internal gatherings- Guide, support and oversee the correct execution of the discounting transactions.- Gave a short presentation/training to fellow teammembers- Helped familiarize and integrate the new intern within the department and the relative processes of the documentary collection and import letter of credit team.

Internship Assignment:Facilitate the offshoring of transaction-based finance. Prepare, guide and oversee the correct implementation.Daily work activities included:- Codify, control, and archive incoming documents related to documentary collection. Handle flow trade transactions for the designated region presented for approval to the DB Trade department within the set limits. - Assist in the processing of the trade transactions on the department (i.e. documentary collection and letter of credit). All occurring administrative work with emphasis on entering transactions in the back-end system related to Documentary Collection and Letter of Credit- Prepare transactions. Help with the check-in/check-out process and accommodate the guests during their stay in a pleasant and efficient manner. -Responsible for welcoming the guests, taking care of their luggage and other immediate needs, ensure luggages arrive to the assigned rooms and making sure that the guests are properly settled in their room according to the standards.
