In 2022 I've created within the creative agency PG&W the digital network Particles (www.particlesitalia.it) an organization gathering partners with vertical specialization ranging from e-commerce to digital marketing, up to cyber security and web reputation. Particles collects the experience and expertise of more than 40 professionals around Italy.

Medialab is a digital company providing, e-commerce and communication platforms for large scale shopping centers, mass market retailers, fashion brands and shops. Medialab provides strategic consultancy and internally develops platforms, web sites, apps, and social network content management solution. Medialab also provides digital media planning through its affiliate Arvis, based in Rome.

General Management responsibilities consisted of overseeing daily business operations, creating and managing budgets, improving revenues, managing costs, analyzing accounting and financial data, hiring employees. Average turnover of the company during this time was around € 150 million. Publishing Director duties consisted in determining the type of magazines and web solutions the house would publish, ensuring that the content was being made in line with adv customers and readers expectations. During this time the Company published 25 magazines and 20 between websites and digital services.

Publisher set the editorial and commercial direction, on and off line. Publisher was responsible for the p&l as a whole. As Publisher of the monthly GQ + gq.com and the weekly Vanity Fair + vanityfair.it. I made decisions about the markets to serve and the type of content to offer their audience. During this time average turnover of the two brands was around € 65 million.

The company was based in Milan. The company was part of the international network of web portals named Spray Group, based in Stockholm. I oversaw daily business with key attention on content creation and adv sales. I was reporting directly to the owners in Stockholm. Spray Network was then acquired by Lycos (Bertelsmann).

During this time VNU was a global leader in the business information sector, owning - among other things - AC Nielsen Company and Miller Freeman. The Italian branch - based in Milan - published 18 magazines and 6 web sites focused on IT topics. During this time the Publishing Director set the editorial and sales policy of the company with full responsibility for the p&l management and daily business operations.

During this time Fiat Group was supervising its media companies through the holding Itedi Italiana Edizioni, based in Turin. Itedi was the owner of Editrice La Stampa and of Publikompass, a multi-client advertising sales agency serving around 30 Italian newspaper publishers. My job consisted in supporting the managers of the operating companies in the business development through marketing and technology. During this time I set up the first version of www.lastampa.it (see http://web.archive.org/web/19970109084756/http://www.lastampa.it/) starting up on line content and advertising sales.

Warsaw, Poland

At this time Editrice Il Sole 24 Ore was the owner of Wydawnictwo Nowa Europa, a newspaper company based in Warsaw. I relocated there. As Managing Director I developed and implemented the strategic plans drawn by the shareholders. I was overseeing the daily business, ensuring in addition the classic publisher’s duties, steering the editorial line of Nowa Europa (a financial daily) and the adv sales policy.

During this times the financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore was booming in circulation and advertising sales. As Marketing Manager I became responsible for drawing and executing the yearly marketing plan. Circulation was growing very fast (around 350.000 copies in newsstands). I also could launch a new business unit dedicated to professional education and to conferencing.

As business analyst within the Corporate Development staff, I conducted market analyses on companies and on business of the media industry. During this time Arnoldo Mondadori Editore was in a phase of strong growth. I supported the selection of companies to be acquired by the Group.
