Industrious Ecology student and aspiring educator committed to enhancing environmental awareness and stewardship. Utilising strong leadership and communication skills honed in my supervisory role at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, I help to empower others through engaging science workshops at Sheffield Botanical Gardens. Beyond education, I support young people who have experienced bereavement, helping to run free activity days with the student-led ANTS project. Through hands-on field and laboratory projects, I continue to refine my ability to think critically, problem-solve and work effectively within teams. Recently I collaborated with fellow students to design and conduct a week-long field project focused on Mediterranean ecosystems, specifically whether non-native trees influence invertebrate diversity. I consistently complement practical application with a variety of academic skills including academic writing, presentation skills and effective use of R programming. I am an advocate for mindful living, championing reduced plastic use through easy swaps in our daily routines. Within my local community, I am an active citizen scientist, contributing weekly to the BTO’s garden birdwatch project fuelled by my love for passerine birds.
