• Led the Alexa Skills Kit developer experience, a 90+ multidisciplinary engineering organization in US and Canada. • Defined vision and chapter for the organization, and oversaw the growth from 40 to more than 90 people.• Oversaw the growth of Alexa Skills from 10,000 to more than 70,000 in the US, and international expansion from 3 countries to 15. • Launched Alexa Hosted Skills, a streamlined way to build Skills without having to own or manage AWS resources. • Launched SDKs for Node.js, Java, and Python; and released them open source. • Launched the Alexa Skills Command Line Interface (CLI). • Drove operational excellence and support across the organization.

• Managed a 50+ person multidisciplinary organization of applied research scientist, software developers, technical project managers, and hardware engineers working on building automation systems based on Machine Learning and Computer Vision.• Launched a system to find inventory defects using computer vision and machine learning. The system substantially reduce the human labor dedicated to inventory quality control in the fulfillment centers. System was presented at AWS conference “Transforming Industrial Processes with Deep Learning”.• Launched a system to automate the inbound receive process, reducing the receive times and saving millions to the company. The system consist of a multisensory vision tunnel that use image processing algorithms to sort vendor parcels. The system was portrayed on a Fast Company article “Why Amazon Is The World's Most Innovative Company Of 2017”• Led a confidential project to build new robotic systems with advanced perception capabilities. During prototype phase we were been able to substantially outperform best in class comparable industry robotic systems in accuracy and cycle times.

• Built a 50+ person technical organization to support Amazon Business and Amazon Industrial and Scientific initiatives, including offices in Seattle and Madrid. • Launched key B2B systems powering Amazon Business, allowing business to delegate buying power to employees, and place order electronically integrated with internal procurement system (e.g. SAP, Coupa). Amazon Business generated over a $1B in 2016 from more than 400,000 business customers. • Launched the Amazon Industrial and Scientific store, building a unique discovery and buying experience.• Launched AmazonSupply.com, a predecessor to the Amazon Business initiative. • Built the web rendering framework that powers critical features at Amazon.com and other Amazon sites.

• Oversaw all aspects of integrating SmallParts.com subsidiary with Amazon.com systems. The project was launched on time and budget and with minimal disruption to the ongoing business. This work crossed multiple internal and external teams and across multiple locations. Stakeholders were highly satisfied with the implementation and the business saw web sales grow more than 50% YOY. As part of this project the following sub-projects were completed:• Integrated Amazon warehouse management system and order pipeline with SmallParts Inc. ERP system.• Re-implemented and launched SmallParts.com using Amazon e-Commerce platform and supported by Amazon systems and services. SmallParts.com was the first website to be launched using Amazon latest e-Commerce platform.

Billing and Invoicing for telecommunication companies. Designed and implemented service APIs for different functional areas of the product like Address Validation, Credit Card Verification and Processing, User Comments and Subscriber Creation. Those components were part of the core Daleen Revchain SOA architecture used for integration with other systems.Mentored and trained other developers in the use and implementation of the J2EE framework and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).Reverse engineered functional areas of the application to extract the business logic from the Delphi Client/Server application and redesign them for a multi-tier approach.Evaluated different distributed application frameworks and technologies to be used to port the existing Client/Server application to a distributed multi-tier component and web base application. Worked in the implementation of the Unified Modeling Process in the company development process, creating templates for High Level Design and Detail Level Design documents based on UML.Led the product localization support, creating well-defined procedures and tools.

Full live cycle development of two client/server and distributed software applications to automate the Emergency Room in Hospitals. The application was deployed to more than 100 hospitals in the US.

Transferred from Dominican Republic to establish an IT department in in Miami. The department provided support to all stores in South Florida and developed a software systems for phone cards management.

Managed a technical team that developed a system for call processing and billing that was deployed in more than 50 calling centers in Dominican Republic.
