Responsible for managing three teams responsible for the design and operation of Miami-Dade County’s DWDM, SONET, Carrier Ethernet, LAN, WLAN, Co-Location, Public Safety (911), and IT Monitoring Infrastructures. The aforementioned three teams are composed of 12-Sr. Operating Systems Programmers, 4-Operating Systems Programmers, and 11-Senior Telecommunications Technicians.Designed, Implemented, and currently operate Miami-Dade County’s Metronet: -Network Infrastructure which services over 15k employees in different departments-Data Center Network Infrastructure located at 3 geographically diverse Data Centers-911 network Infrastructure which is the 7th largest Public Safety Answering Point in the US-311 network infrastructure-Leased line access networks (ATT: ADSL, Metro-E, ASE).Created Metronet Port Program which revolutionized how network services are consumed and budgeted in Miami-Dade County. This program currently comprises over 49k ports and 1700 WLAN Access Points deployed at over 400 sites. It has removed the need for capital requests and ensures that customers have the ability to scale up or down their network resources as required by their business needs.Created Co-Location Program which was the first and continues to be the only secure multi-tenant Data Center Co-Location service in Miami-Dade County. This service allows other government customers to utilize one of Miami-Dade County's secure data center facilities to deploy their own IT hardware. Additional services like network data circuits are available for customers to acquire in order to meet their business needs.Currently working on a project to bring 100Gbps inter-connectivity to all 3 Major Miami-Dade County Data Centers on a new Carrier Class Ciena 6500 Packet-Optical Platform.Collaborate with senior Executive team on creating and executing multi-year strategic service improvement plans.
